Why inline styles matter for email but not for websites

Website tables should carry as little styling as possible so your site CSS controls them. Email clients are the opposite: many ignore style blocks and only honor inline styles. Choose clean markup for a CMS and styled markup when the table goes into a newsletter or a transactional email.

Number formats need care. The HTML output writes values as they are displayed in Excel, so 1234.5 formatted as currency becomes $1,234.50, and right alignment is applied to numeric columns. Hidden rows and columns are skipped, which matches what the reader saw in the workbook.
