Records with different keys and how columns are built

JSON records rarely share the exact same keys. One order has a discount field, another has a coupon, a third has neither. A converter that reads only the first record silently drops columns. XlsConverter scans every record, builds the union of all key paths and leaves cells empty where a record has no value.

Arrays inside records are the hardest part. An order with three line items can become one row with the items joined, three columns item.0, item.1 and item.2, or three rows that repeat the order fields. The last option is best for pivot tables, the first for readability.

Excel on Windows assumes a legacy encoding for CSV unless the file starts with a byte order mark, which is why names like Müller turn into garbled text. Choose UTF-8 with BOM for Excel users. Options for JSON to CSV

Record path: Point to the array that holds the records, such as data.items, when it is not at the top level.
Flattening: Nested objects become dotted columns such as customer.address.city.
Arrays: Join array values into one cell, expand them into numbered columns, or create one row per array item.
Delimiter: Comma by default, semicolon for European Excel, or tab.
Encoding: UTF-8, or UTF-8 with BOM so Excel on Windows shows accented characters correctly.
